THE DARK PATH HOME - 3 boys, 3 girls, and flexible adult cast of 6-8
Four kids from the poor side of town sneak out for an all night adventure.The stakes are raised when Danny challenges Lexie to sneak into the condemned Orpheum Theatre. The theatre has been boarded up for decades after a fire killed hundreds of people. Not wanting to appear scared Lexie takes on the challenge if the others all come too. When they get to the theatre they find props and costumes from the play Orpheus and Eurydice which was stopped in the middle of the play by the fire. Lexie falls through a piece of scenery and which stirs up the ghosts of Bonny and Ben, still waiting for the Papa to return for them. Charon, from the play appears and instead of taking Bonny and Ben takes Lexie and Joey across the river Styx to the underworld. Danny and Kylie convince Bonny and Ben to help them go after their friends. In a test of courage commanded by Hades, the King of the Underworld, the kids must face multiple challenges to rescue their friends and find Bonny and Ben’s Papa. Hades then agrees to allow them to return to the land of the living if they sacrifice one of the group. As dawn approaches Bonny and Ben are reunited with their papa.and In a final trial Danny faces his most feared enemy. The script was inspired by an abandoned theatre in my town that still had an unused side entrance with a sign that said "Colored Balcony". The ghostly characters were written to be played by Black performers. However I wanted anyone to be able to put on this play regardless of race so there is alternate dialogue at the end of the script so that any one can be cast in the ghostly roles regardless of ethnicity.

A COMEDY ABOUT THE CHOICES WE MAKE
HEAT LIGHTNING - 1 Male and 1 Female age 50's, 3 Males and 3 females age 20's. A comedy about memory, love, and the choices we make. At a party for Chris on the night of his 50th birthday, Chris is back again at the site of his 20th birthday celebration. After a fight with his wife Raye about his regrets, Chris is suddenly knocked to the ground by a lightning strike and finds himself alone in the woods. As he tries to find his way back home he becomes lost in the woods and suddenly comes face to face with the gang of friends, two other guys and three girls, on the night of his 20th birthday that shaped the course of his life. The girls have a bet to see who can get the guys clothing off first without losing theirs. When Chris is discovered the friends see him as the 20 year old version of himself. Chris tries to relive but has to be very careful not to run into his 20 year old self who is also wandering in the woods and on his own quest. When his wife Raye shows up lost in the woods too, Chris must set things right before Raye who is also accepted as her younger self is wooed by one his 20 year old friends. In the climax of the play Chris comes face to face with his younger self and the two offer each other advice.

THE CHRISTMAS BOOK 2 Adult Males, 1 Adult Female, 2 Girls, 1 Boy
The play starts with an unexpected snow storm and the arrival of the stranger at a rural farm. The family invites the stranger to stay until the storm passes. The discovery of an unusual book from among the strangers things begins a miraculous journey for the farm family. As more miracles happen with each of the family members it becomes clear the stranger and his book are not just a chance happening. As the family retires on Christmas Eve after hanging up their stockings a confrontation between the father and the stranger take on an other worldly feel ending in a literal wrestling match to test the fathers character and beliefs. Christmas morning everyone wakes to see what gifts they have received and the family discovers the stranger has mysteriously vanished but left his book behind with a final story.

Abe, sick of sticking to a sensible diet, decides to move a client appointment to later in the day in favor of getting an ice cream sandwich. The only problem is that Abe is an angel of death, and his “appointments” are to greet the newly deceased and take them to the next stop. Things quickly spiral out of control when Abe’s repeated attempts to “bump off” his delayed appointment fails, and the real threat of a new “unauthorized life” will occur unless Abe gets everything back on track. Meanwhile, Abe keeps collecting additional “clients” as he makes a desperate plan to set things right. Abe and a collection of the living and the dead all end up in a Las Vegas wedding chapel where a surprise visit from the boss helps Abe rediscover what the real meaning of life and death is all about.
